In January this year Tekes signed cooperation agreements with the authorities of Shenzhen, Beijing and Jiangsu in China. The goal: to enable easier networking between Finns and top Chinese researchers, companies and organizations.
”Research and development work with China is important because China is investing more and more in science and technology,” says Jaani Heinonen from Tekes Shanghai.
The latest Tekes agreements establish a good Chinese network for the Finns which will open doors in the most important regions in China.
Tekes has already signed a similar cooperation agreement with the Shanghai Science and Technology Commission.
The latest agreements will further intensify Tekes cooperation with key science and technology regions in China.
The cooperation agreements cover the areas of biotechnology, healthcare technologies, new materials, nanotechnology, energy and environmental technologies, paper and forest industry technologies among others.
In December 2006 Tekes joined the Tsinghua University Industry Cooperation Committee (UICC).
